Ryu Yokoo was born in Osaka City, Japan and started playing guitar as a young child.
Ryu’s music reflects his early influences and inspirations which include Eric Clapton, John Lennon/the Beatles, Tommy Emmanuel, Chet Atkins and early blues artists such as Robert Johnson. Yet through his intricate arrangements, Ryu’s music is unique and refreshing. Ryu’s love of music continued when he auditioned for, and was accepted, to the very popular McEwan University’s Music Program, graduating with honours from the guitar performance major.
